What data is processed

When you upload a media file to codecpeek, the file is transmitted to a remote server and processed by ffprobe to extract container metadata, stream properties, and frame thumbnails. No other data is collected, read, or transmitted alongside the file.

Data retention

The uploaded file is deleted immediately after analysis completes — within the same HTTP request. It is never written to persistent storage, indexed, cached, or logged. The analysis results (the stream report) are returned to your browser and exist only in memory on the server during processing; they are not stored server-side.

Server request logs may contain the timestamp, file size in bytes, and HTTP status code of each upload, but not the file content itself or the analysis output.

Cookies and tracking

Codecpeek does not set cookies, use tracking scripts, or load third-party analytics. There is no advertising, no social-media widgets, and no fingerprinting. A theme preference may be stored in your browser's localStorage if you use the theme toggle — this data never leaves your device.

Third-party services

The ffprobe analysis runs on the same server that serves the page. No third-party service receives your file. Google Fonts are loaded from Google's servers when you visit the page; Google's privacy policy governs that request.

Your rights

Because codecpeek does not store personal data or account information, there is no data to access, correct, or delete on request. If you have concerns about the transient processing of your file, the remedy is not to upload it — run ffprobe locally instead.
